Drygt tre decennier av träbyggande - hur har det utvecklats
The text, written in Swedish, reviews 30 years of multistorey timber construction in Sweden following changes to fire regulations in 1994. Early projects achieved good sound insulation by addressing low-frequency footstep noise, although acoustic requirements initially remained unchanged and poorly reflected perceived disturbance in lightweight buildings. Updated regulations in 1999 introduced requirements covering an extended frequency range. The article summarizes subsequent developments in regulations and construction methods.

Dimensionering av flerbostadshus med lätta trästommar
This paper is written in Swedish and discusses how we should design apartment buildings with lightweight timber frames to achieve good acoustic comfort – without oversizing and overinvesting. Here, Klas Hagberg writes about the importance of adapting requirements to the actual risk of disturbance and type of housing, rather than routinely applying standard levels for all acoustic parameters.
